Mindset
One of the important parts of racing well has to do with how you think about racing.
Understand that races are HARD. To reach your potential, you need to experience what it feels like when you have a half mile to go and think you can't finish. Coach Ben has said, "have a plan for what you're going to do when the race gets hard." This is great advice because it's simple and at some point (for everyone) the race gets hard and you have to make choices.
Even the best runners in the world have that voice in their head that says slow down or even drop out during races because they are racing so hard; yet they (and you can, too) are able to push through.
It's possible you could change the trajectory of your career in your next race by going to the next level of pain and pushing through.
