2024 Cross Country

Welcome to the 2024 Runnin' Raider Cross Country season!

We are about halfway through summer training and nearing the official start of the season. With that, I wanted to give you a checklist with some deadlines and some other items that will help you make the most out of the season.

Checklist

The following is a checklist designed to help you get all of the required forms, physicals, team gear, etc. taken care of before the first practice. It's important to have everything done before the first practice arrives on August 15th.

Summer Training

We a month into summer training and have about 30 kids per day showing up. The beauty of the summer is that this is where we develop the TEAM. Putting in the work with your teammates- when none of you have to be there- is where great programs are made. The off-season (for both XC & TF) is the difference-maker.

If you are in town, you should be at the 6:30 AM sessions. If you're out of town or on vacation, make it a priority to get in the work. (Training is always posted at runninraiders.com/training. The password to get into the page is: PTS).

You can't make your team better when you are absent, so be at the 6:30 AM workouts every chance you get.

Athlete Health

Please look through the Athlete Health page to learn about issues specifically related to runners. There are some good, research-based interventions that will help your experience as a runner.

  • Nutrition

  • Hydration

  • Sleep

  • Iron Issues

  • Running Safety

Online Participant & Parent Meeting

I know first-hand how busy the beginning of the school year can be. In an effort to make the participant/parent meeting available to all, we will have an on-demand version available online at the beginning of the season.

That's it for now. Please contact me if you have any questions!
