PTS Voting + Upcoming Meets + RC Invite

Updated: Sep 28, 2025

Athletes: if you didn't vote for Pound the Stone (there weren't many votes) from last week, please do so now. This would be from the Sioux Falls meet. You'll see another one for the RC meet this weekend.

Here is the list for who is going to the next couple of meets so that you can make plans.

We'll take the Varsity group (Top 10) to Cheyenne in two weeks. Everyone else will race this coming Thursday in Sturgis (Oct 2nd). We won't race LNI (Sat, Oct 4) as everyone will race the Sturgis meet.

BLUE will race in Cheyenne / YELLOW next week in Sturgis. If you haven't raced yet, you'll race in Sturgis on Thursday.

RC INVITE

The Rapid City Invite was truly a great meet all around for our program. Each team competed well with the Girls Varsity brining home the GOLD and all three other squads coming home with RUNNER-UP spots.

What was most impressive was that the conditions were not great yet we came prepared physically and most importantly mentally. If there was someone who was a little off today, we had people step up and help the team- it was awesome to see.

The girls came into the meet ranked 4th, but had a huge day with three in the Top 7 and some massive improvements from 2024.

Kadance Holso picked up her first Cross Country win, improving from 31st place last year at this meet. Evelyn Hurley continues to improve and placed 3rd. Brinna Sheldon beat last year's Class AA 5th place finisher to finish 7th and Vi Sietsema had a career day, finishing in 14th place.

The boys were 2nd behind WY #1 Sheridan. It wasn't a perfect day, as I think our top boys still had last week's 400m repetition workout in their legs (my fault), but we had some clutch performances from our 4-7 (Weston, Jeriah, Josh & Noah) as they moved up really well throughout the race to help the boys Varsity finish 2nd.

The JV races really went well and I think these kids executed the race plan to near perfection. We moved up incredibly throughout the race and had some big hitters with 5 in the Top 5 between the boys and girls. Both teams were runner-up in their respective races.

Jaxon Hanson (2nd) and Wyatt Gaeta (4th) had big races for the boys. The girls were led by three in the top 4: Adison Armstrong (1st) / Abigail Eisenbraun (3rd) / Maddie Carcamo (4th).

RACE REFLECTION

This information was instrumental for the coaches. Keep it coming. Data from this really helped everything from constructing workouts to the race plan.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE

THIS WILL BE EDITED BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON DUE TO SOME EXTREME HEAT THIS WEEK.
